President's Message Winter 2010

Welcome to District Five's newest lodge, Music City Vikings in Nashville, Tennessee. The lodge was instituted on October 31. We look forward to their participation in District activities.

Election of officers for 2010 have taken place. Committees will be formed, with one of the most important being the membership committee. I encourage all lodge presidents to appoint an active membership committee. Thank you to all of the officers who are completing a term and to those who will serve in 2010.

District Five will again be a sponsor of the Barnebirkie to be held on February 25. Cookies will be needed for the cookie tent at the end of the race and at the Sons of Norway booth at the Birkebeiner registration. All look forward to District
Five's cookies. Volunteers are also needed.

The District Board is hard at work planning the 2010 District Convention. Delegates will be elected in February. Information tables will be available for delegates. Lodge success stories of fund raisers, programs, special events, etc. are needed. Please send your lodge success stories to me. We are looking forward to providing an information and fun filled convention.

The holiday season is near. Consider a gift membership to Sons of Norway for family members or friends or a Viking Voyager insurance policy for a child or grandchild.
