Rude Addresses District Lodge 5

International President Dan Rude gave the Keynote Address to the District Lodge 5 meeting on Friday, June 11. Following is the text of his address:

International Director Bakken, President Bennett, Delegates, and guests. Good Morning. It is great being back in “The Friendly Fifth”. I did attend the Madison Convention and since being elected President this is my fourth trip to The Friendly Fifth. I was able to celebrate with Fosselyngen Lodge, Leif Erikson Lodge, and Skjold Lodge on the occasions of their 100th anniversaries.  I also spent a great weekend with Polar Star Lodge. I have attended so many of your District Board meetings that Present Bennett said she was going to have to put me on a committee! I have really enjoyed getting to know and work with your International Director Jostein Bakken. I don’t think I have met anyone who is more dedicated to Sons of Norway as Jostein. It is also been a pleasure to work with your President Mary Bennett. What a gem you have as District 5 President.

Convention Sponsorships

District Lodge 5 welcomes businesses, organizations, lodges and individuals that would like to support the District 5 Convention and Lodge by offering financial and in-kind contributions.

Your support allows us to lower the cost of the convention and therefore, allows more lodges, delegates and members to participate in the district convention, take in the speakers and workshops, and have the opportunity to share ideas and socialize with other members.

By returning this form by May 15, recognition in the program booklet will be guaranteed. We will also recognize sponsors with signage at the convention, during sessions, and on the District website and mailings. Financial contributions and in-kind donations are welcomed.

Contact District Publicity Director Duane Kittleson for more information.

Thank you for your consideration.

Lodge Success Stories Display Tables

A positive feature of the District Convention is the ability to network with other lodges and share your success stories. Although workshops and coffee breaks offer some opportunities, we’d like to expand the networking experience to our vendor and display area.

This year’s hotel offers us an expanded area and available tables so that lodges could set up informational tables to showcase your success stories. This may be Adopt a School activities, how you promote cultural skills, fundraising activities (although you can’t sell items at your table!), youth activities, and all the other great things you do!

How you can participate: If you would like to have a display table (approximately a 6 or 8 foot skirted table), you can submit this form.
