History of Lodges

Christian Radich 568
Suttons Bay, Michigan

Christian Radich Lodge #568 was organized October 29, 1978.  Archie Larson, area Manager of the State, organized the new chapter. The Traverse City (MI) Lodge "Tvilling Fjordene #561" was the sponsoring lodge. An election of officers was held after the initiation of 38 members, for a total of 49 charter members.

During the January 7, 1979 meeting, the Lodge members adopted the name "Christian Radich." The name came from the Norwegian sailing vessel (one of the tall ships) which sailed into Suttons Bay Harbor (MI) during the celebration of our country's bicentennial.

Christian Radich Lodge celebrated its 25th anniversary on October 4, 2003. On January 1, 2005, the Tvilling Fjordene Lodge merged with the Christian Radich Lodge. This increased membership to sixty-five members.

At the October 2018 meeting, we celebrated the Lodge's 40th anniversary. There were three founding members present for the celebration.
