The District Convention ends with a traditional banquet on Saturday night. Newly elected District President Mary Bennett had a reception just prior to the banquet. Some of those attending were standing and talking to each other, when it suddenly occurred to the photographer that the four women standing and talking all had something in common: they all have a parent that has served as President of District Lodge 5!

From left to right, Johanna Grinde (Jon Grinde), Kris McArdle (Mary Bennett), Sheryl Hall (Clare Almquist), and Janice Sievers (Cy Wittrock). All are active in Sons of Norway. Johanna will serve as a delegate to the International Lodge Meeting and counselor at the Heritage Camp, Kris works on distribution of the Idun newsletter, Sheryl is President of Valhall and serves as District Youth Director, and Janice, well, Janice has to put up with George (enough said). Apples don’t fall far from the tree!
